Can Distillation remove Fluoride?

A very pertinent question and the answer is - Yes, distillation removes fluoride from water. It is known that fluoride is sometimes added to the municipal water supply because it helps prevent tooth decay. However, there is a never ending controversy surrounding fluoridation. Some of the points of view placed forward by various people are:-
After childhood, fluoridation is not as effective in preventing tooth decay.

Fluoride tablets are much more cost effective, allowing administration of fluoride to only those that desire it.
There is controversy concerning health problems that could be caused by fluoride.

Since less than 2% of the water used by a household is used for drinking, fluoridation of the entire water supply is expensive and wasteful.
